What should I know about Anadrol?
Anadrol (oxymetholone) is most likely second only to Dianabol (methandrostenolone) as a bodybuilding anabolic steroid. Anadrol is the brand and trade name for the anabolic steroid more formally known as Oxymetholone. Anadrol is a synthetic male hormone (androgen or anabolic steroid) used to treat a low red blood cell count (anemia). It works by increasing the amount of the hormone (erythropoietin) involved in the production of red blood cells.
Anadrol carries an extremely high anabolic rating that is three times greater than testosterone. Anadrol has a tendency to be more androgenic than its rating would imply. The metabolism of this steroid easily removes the 2-hydroxymethylene group, at least in part, thereby reducing the hormone to methyldihdrotestosterone.
Effects of Anadrol
The effects of Anadrol 50 are without question some of the strongest among anabolic steroids. This is largely considered one of the most powerful steroids in existence, especially on the prescription market, and the results will be rapid. Anadrol is one of the premier mass building steroids, and it will significantly boost the individual’s strength.
Anadrol Stacking
Adding Anadrol to 50 mg/day of Dianabol gives little added benefit to a steroid cycle; in contrast, adding Anadrol to 50-100 mg/day trenbolone acetate or 60-80 mg/day Anavar (oxandrolone) gives dramatic improvement. In this its stacking behavior is similar to that of Dianabol, but not to that of trenbolone. Likely this is because unlike trenbolone, oxymetholone does not bind strongly to the androgen receptor, and most of its anabolic effect is likely not genomically mediated via the AR.
Anadrol Dosages
Typical usage is 50-150 mg/day. In some cases larger doses such as 300 mg/day are used, but when suitably stacked with one or more other anabolic steroids, often there is little further benefit from exceeding 150 mg/day.
Because Anadrol is most commonly manufactured in 50mg tablets, bodybuilding and athletic purposes call for 25 – 50mg per day for a beginner. Intermediate users are known for using a range of 50 – 100mg per day, and although approaching risky limits, advanced users as high as 150mg per day.
However, most users whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced, should seldom require more than 50mg per day due to the sheer potency and strength of Anadrol as an anabolic steroid. This is especially the case when studies have demonstrated that a 100mg Anadrol dosage is indeed more effective than a 50mg Anadrol dosage, but beyond 100mg the results will be no more effective than 100mg itself, and diminishing returns begin to manifest.
