Introduction:
Estradiol Enanthate (INN, USAN) or estradiol heptanoate, is a synthetic steroid stereotype and estrogen ester, especially 17β-estradiol heptanoate, used as a component for hormonal contraception.
The main uses include prevention and treatment of perimenopausal syndrome, menstrual symptoms caused by insufficient secretion of estrogen. It is also used for palliative treatment of advanced prostate cancer and various symptoms of ovarian dysfunction such as vasomotor, red, perimenopausal syndrome caused by lack of estrogen.
When estradiol is applied to the oil by intramuscular injection, a depot effect occurs and the medicament has a very long effect. It has been found that the single intramuscular dose of 10 mg of estrogen leads to a significant elevation of estradiol levels for at least 31 days. The duration of estradiol enanthate is much longer than that of the other commonly used estradiol esters, such as estradiol valerate and estradiol propionate.
